The Canadian at Radio Shack

When I lived in Hollywood Florida I was in Radio Shack and while I was looking around I heard a customer talking to the clerk. They were talking in a volume that wasn’t private and the conversation piqued my interest. This was at the time when President Clinton was in office and Hillary was working on a national healthcare plan.

The Canadian was talking about the fact that he and his wife had just bought a place on the beach and come down to Florida to stay for 6 months out of the year. The clerk asked, “well if you have a place and love it here so much why not just move here full time?” The Canadian held up his index finger as if to say “hold on a sec” then gets his wallet out of his back pocket and produced his CANADIAN NATIONAL HEALTHCARE CARD and said, “this is why”.

I was smiling from ear to ear. Here was a man wealthy enough to afford 2 houses one in Canada and the other beach property in Hollywood Florida, and he won't give up his CANADIAN HEALTHCARE.

So when you hear the lies about socialized healthcare, remember the Canadian at Radio Shack.
